EMERSON SIS Smart Logic Solver

Protecting assets with a process safety system designed for hazardous environments. The design team and Emerson leveraged recent technology advances and past learning from the DeltaV program to develop a new version of DeltaV designed specifically for hazardous environments. From sensor, to logic solver, to final element, Emerson wanted a system that shuts down when needed for safety, but keeps running safely when critical components fail. We created an integrated system architecture that continuously monitors the ability of the system to perform on demand, while diagnosing faults before they cause false alarms. The design is consistent with the original DeltaV, and communicates the reliability, simplicity, and intuitive nature of the system, while differentiating itself through the use of color. This new design creates dramatic installation cost savings and addresses all of the safety needs for Emerson’s customers.
